“Starlight” ft. Claes Rosen is the first track off of Rusko’s forthcoming 3-track release via Owsla (Skrillex-owned record label) which is due out next Tuesday, July 2nd. On top of that, the one and only Rusko has just announced that he will be touring the U.S. and Canada for a 30-date stretch called the Lift Me Up Tour this fall to showcase his upcoming Lift Me Up EP. The cover art for the new EP is pictured above, and before you wonder where the text that states the title and artist is located, take a second, hard look. It is already on the artwork, but semi-hidden in a super creative way. We are digging the cover art without a doubt.
We have read through reliable sources that this EP “dips in and out of dubstep, hip-hop, drum and bass and all kinds of aural bomb explosions.” This track he has already released from Lift Me Up, titled “Starlight” is an uplifting track, for sure. However, it is a different sound for Rusko than we have grown to expect and love. It has more of a light-hearted, drum & bass kind of feel. We’re anxious to see what the rest of the EP is all about, because we can’t quite decide how we feel about this particular track.
A Lift Me Up EP video trailer was also just released, and can be found just below the embedded Soundcloud player below. Below that, you will also find the tourdates for the fall that were just announced. We are fans of Rusko and have been for a while. We have seen him live several times, so regardless are excited to be able to see this chummy Brit grace our city again. The question is: are YOU excited for the forthcoming EP release / North American tour?
