Mike Gordon set out to be a guitarist, a simple role player in a band. Thankfully, Gordon found his voice enabling Mk.gee’s image as a revolutionary and unique band in the widespread indie world. With a touch of jazz and funk, this band is creating a path of their own in the music world. Their sound makes you want to dance. With Gordon’s melancholy voice accompanied by funk guitar rifts and drum kicks that take you back to the days of 70’s disco. Simply put, they are not impersonating anyone. Mk.gee set out on tour over a year ago with accompanying band Omar Apollo, another rising star in the indie world. It has not taken long for this band to gain fast recognition from music lovers across America. Next week, Mk.gee will take the stage for the first time at Bonnaroo ’19, performing at the WHO stage for lesser known acts.
