This year will be the sixth annual Catskill Chill music festival at Camp Minglewood in upstate New York. Although the festival is relocating to an unannounced bigger and better location next year, Chill attendees are sad to let this magical place go. The community vibe of the summer camp venue is unmatchable to any other fest. The cabin and tent city on the side of the lake is filled with love and passion for music, art, and everything in between. The lack of cell service immensely brings together the “Chill fam” by taking away the distractions of technology and replacing it with human communication and interaction and the ability to 100% take in the surrounding beauty. The magnificent congregation of artwork and people this year will undoubtedly top the past Chill’s. Because everyone knows this is the last hurrah for Minglewood, everyone will be putting their best foot forward to make this the most soul satisfying Catskill Chill yet. On top of the good vibration from Chill goers, this year’s lineup is stacked. The headlining bands include Lotus, Zappa Plays Zappa, Lettuce, Electron, The Motet, Dopapod, Kung Fu, Twiddle, Break Science, Turkuaz, The Werks, Particle & Fam, and George Porter Jr. & The Runnin’ Pardners. Bringing together funk, soul, electronic jam, and more this lineup is diverse and extremely dope. Something else that makes Chill special is the collaboration sets such as Turkuaz and Dopapod coming together to create Dopakuaz! There are also a lot of surprise “sit in’s” that happen every year that are exciting and never something to miss. Check out the full lineup below.
On top of all of this; there is free parking, free camping, daily yoga, live art, a farmer’s market, craft and food vendors, a communal bonfire nightly and an open mic. Also, as long as they are accompanied by an adult, children under 12 are free!
Catskill Chill will take place Friday, September 18th – Sunday, September 20th, 2015. Gates open at 9 am on September 18th.
