Late Night Radio w/ Marvel Years, Artifakts, Krooked Drivers, Lidsky and Mr. Bugatti @ Cervantes (Denver, CO) [Show & Photo Review]

Photography & Review by Bronzy Wizzle

This past weekend (August 16th and 17th), the state of Colorado had the pleasure of hosting not one, but two whole nights of Pretty Lights at the infamous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. This is an annual gathering that has been going on for the past couple of years since the rise of Pretty Lights himself along with the artists on his Pretty Lights Music label. If you aren’t familiar with Pretty Lights and the kind of fanfare that he and the PLM label artists draw, you must be living under a rock. Pretty Lights has roots in this mountain state, and fans from all over the country, even the world, travel to the Mile High to witness firsthand the magic that is a  PL show.

With that in mind, the pre-festivities for a 2-night run full of Pretty Lights at one of the best venues on the planet better be a hard-hitter to make some of these mountain-ragers blink an eye. A pre-party with the power to make the rest of the country green with envy is a given.

This year’s un-official Pretty Lights pre-party on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 was just that. This lineup was stacked higher than the mattresses in the princess’ bedroom in The Princess and the Pea. Late Night Radio (a.k.a. Alex Medellin of Denver, CO), Marvel Years (a.k.a. Cory Wythe of Manchester, VT), Artifakts (a.k.a. Garret Meyer of Wisconsin), Krooked Drivers (a.k.a. Maddy O’neal and Donnie Dalbora of Denver, CO), Lidsky (a.k.a. Ben Lidsky of Denver, CO), and Mr. Bugatti all performed at the same show at one of Denver’s favorite venues, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom.

The ballroom was packed from wall-to-wall with happy people that were there to vibe. The energy throughout the entire night was uplifting, positive, and absolutely wonderful. And the music… ahhhhhhh – the music. All of it was top-notch. One could not possibly expect any more out of this pre-party. All of the artists crushed it. There wasn’t a single frown in the building.  As an avid show-goer myself, I have no qualms stating that this event was one of the best (if not THE best) show I’ve attended all year.

Please enjoy these photos we captured from the night, and if you like them and know someone else who might, too – feel free to share the link so they can also either a) reminisce on the wonderful night, or b) get excited for when any one of these artists comes to YOUR hometown. Many of them are currently on tour or will be soon. If any of these artist names shows up on a handbill near you, I would 100% recommend witnessing it firsthand for yourself. Trust me – if you miss it, you’ll regret it.

In the meantime, check out some sick music from these artists below!

| Late Night Radio’s latest release, a 10-track album titled Far Into the Night and released August 14, 2013 (it’s absolutely phenomenal collection, I might add. It’s available for free download HERE)
